Congratulations are in order for Kaylin Peterson, Director of Philanthropy at Jefferson’s Ferry, a not for profit Life Plan community. Peterson recently completed her coursework and graduated from the 2019-2020 LeadingAge New York IGNITE Leadership Academy. This rigorous, invitation-only eight month leadership program is designed to foster professional growth and cultivate relationships among the current and next generation leaders within New York’s non-profit providers of care, housing, and other services for seniors. In order to be considered for the program, Jefferson’s Ferry submitted an in-depth nomination on behalf of Peterson.
Jefferson’s Ferry residents, management and staff tuned in to a Zoom graduation ceremony honoring Peterson and her fellow students. Her accomplishment was further acknowledged as Jefferson’s Ferry President and CEO Bob Caulfield presented Peterson with a gift on behalf of the Jefferson’s Ferry community.
“Not only is Kaylin Peterson a young professional of great promise and a valued member of our management team, she is well-loved throughout the community for her many contributions,” said Bob Caulfield. “We couldn’t be more proud of Kaylin’s significant achievement, as well as what she has gained by forming working relationships with other professionals in the field. ”
As the Director of Philanthropy at Jefferson’s Ferry, Ms. Peterson’s chief responsibility is the fundraising activities of the Jefferson’s Ferry Foundation. The Foundation nurtures a philanthropic environment which has enriched the lives of the residents in numerous ways, including the Jefferson’s Ferry Resident Assistance Fund. The Resident Assistance Fund plays a critical role at Jefferson’s Ferry by covering the monthly fees of residents who have outlived their assets or experience an unanticipated financial need through no fault of their own, giving them the peace of mind that is the Jefferson’s Ferry promise.
